Description
We recommend these "scratch" inks for lottery tickets and promotions. They are primarily available in silver and gold. But they can also be ordered in a few additional colors for lottery tickets and promotions according to different needs. They are also available in solvent-based and optionally UV-curable versions.
Properties
- They are available in Hard and Soft versions, adapted to different substrates.
- The ink layer can be easily removed with a coin or scraped with fingernail.
- Scratch-off inks are usually used for offset prints made on cardboard. Absorbent papers should be avoided because they can destroy the scratch-off effect. The overly absorbent substrate must be sealed with an offset or screen-applied varnish (e.g. the solvent-based Seboprint 203.840, or the UV-curing 301.825 or 301.842V1 varnishes) before the scratch-off ink is printed.
- The "Hard" version of scratch-off ink is usually applied to a layer of varnish, while the "Soft" version is applied directly to the well-dried offset print. But these versions can be mixed.
- The offset ink must be very well dried (2 – 3 days) before the varnish layer, or the scratch-off ink is applied directly.
How can you use it?
Mesh:
45 – 77 T mesh is recommended for full opacity. Coverage approx. 30 - 35 m2/kg.
Dilution:
10-15% with the Normal Reducer 021 thinner.
Drying
The inks recommended for lottery tickets and promotions dry quickly by solvent evaporation. So, the good ventilation / air flow is more important than high temperatures.
The ink layer dries in approximately 5-10 minutes at room temperature, and in 20-30 seconds in a well-ventilated drying tunnel at 50-60 °C.
Cleaning
To clean the tools, devices recommended to use the Normal Reducer 021 thinner.
Stability, storage and handling
The product remains stable for 1 year if kept in the original closed packaging at room temperature.
Attention!
It is important for good, "eraser-rubber like" scraping to separate the cardboard from the scratch-off ink with a thin layer of varnish (dispersion or UV varnish is recommended).
