For Truck Tarpaulins and Tents

Description

We recommend a specially added ink family for this, which is suitable for tarpaulins of trucks, lorries, etc. It was adjusted to the properties and conditions of use of its. It contracts and expands at almost the same rate as the tarpaulin on which it is applied. So neither in the heat of summer nor in the cold of winter will the ink layer be damaged by the wind on the moving tarpaulin hitting the frame structure, or when the tarpaulin-tent is folded.

All Sebolith/CH inks can be mixed with each other, in any proportion. It can be applied by screen, by rolling or with a spray gun. All colors are made with high-end automotive pigments. Their light resistance values are at least 7/8, according to the DIN 54003 Blue Wool scale. (Lightfastness is the value to which the paint resists the irradiation of light. Lightfastness is judged on the so-called Blue Wool scale from 1 to 8, where 1 is very weak and 8 is outstanding.) Since they were combined with highly resistant binders, we recommend these inks for outdoor use. They resist fading, cracking, and chalking for many years. – If it is necessary to further improve the weather resistance, this can be done with overprint protective varnish 202.845.

The ink dries to a bright, water-repellent surface, which has excellent light and weather resistance properties. The ink film maintains its excellent flexibility even at temperatures below 0°C, and large temperature fluctuations do not cause cracks or adhesion problems on the print.

How can you use it?

It can be applied with a screen, by rolling or with a spray gun.

Colors

Mesh
77 T mesh is recommended for full coverage, for printing process colors,finer details, we recommend finer screen, up to 140 T mesh.

Dilution
Under normal conditions, Sebolith/CH inks can be diluted with 10-20% of Normal Reducer 022 thinner. These inks also be applied with a spray gun. For this, the inks must have sufficient dilution (≥100%), for which CH-1 Quick Thinner or 010 Spray Reducer is recommended.

Drying
The ink dries by solvent evaporation, so good ventilation of the drying room is more important than high ambient temperature. The ink layer dries in about 45 minutes at room temperature, but the drying speed is greatly influenced by the layer thickness.

Cleaning
To clean the tools, screen / brush, roller / spray gun, it is recommended to use TU-1 thinner.

Stability, storage and handling
The product remains stable for 1 year if kept in the original closed packaging at room temperature.

Note

• Base colors that are mixed with a large amount of White or transparent base (such as pastels) have a reduced light fastness.
• Larger amounts of thinner or gel/liquid retarder may also result in faster color fading and/or poorer resistance.
• Neon and fluorescent colors are not recommended for printing truck tarpaulins and tarpaulin tents and banners. Because due to the nature of these pigments, their lightfastness is generally poor. Outdoors, all colors will fade within 6-8 weeks. If such colors have to be applied, the UV absorber 202.845 can be used to increase light resistance by a few weeks.
• The printed / painted PVC tarpaulin should be folded or rolled up 18 to 24 hours after painting only, because the ink film reaches then its full physical resistance.
